Wildlife habitats

All our staff are trained to recognise and respect wildlife as they work and are aware of current legislation pertaining to the protection of species and their habitats. Our team routinely carries out a wildlife habitat assessment before starting work on each project and, depending on the nature of what is found, work may be halted, delayed or carried out differently to safeguard the well-being of the wildlife.

Care is taken not to disturb nesting birds unless a tree presents imminent danger to the public; hedge cutting is carried out outside the nesting season; disruption of surrounding areas is always kept to a minimum to avoid unnecessary destruction of habitat and if a protected species, such as bats are thought to be living in a tree, work is halted while professional advice is sought.
